Scope

This privacy policy informs users about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.

The legal framework for data protection is provided by the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of general information

Each time you access this website, information is automatically collected by us or our web hosting provider. This information, also known as server log files, is general in nature and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity.

The following data is collected, among other things: website name, file, date, data volume, web browser and web browser version, operating system, the domain name of your internet provider, the so-called referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our offer) and the IP address.

Without this data, it would be technically impossible to deliver and display the website’s content. Therefore, collecting this data is essential. Furthermore, we use the anonymized information for statistical purposes. This helps us optimize our services and technology. We also reserve the right to review log files retrospectively if we suspect unlawful use of our services.

Newsletter

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we use the data you provide exclusively for this purpose or to inform you about circumstances relevant to this service or your registration. We do not share this data with third parties.

To receive the newsletter, a valid email address is required. We also store the IP address you used to subscribe and the date of your subscription. This data serves as proof in case of misuse, such as if someone else’s email address is used to subscribe to the newsletter. Furthermore, to ensure that an email address is not fraudulently added to our mailing list by a third party, we comply with legal requirements by using the so-called “double opt-in” procedure. This procedure involves logging the newsletter subscription, the sending of the confirmation email, and the receipt of the subscription confirmation.

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your data, your email address, and its use for sending newsletters at any time. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter and on the website. You can also inform us of your wish to withdraw your consent using the contact options listed in this document.

Contact form

When you contact us via the online form or by email, we store the information you provide in order to answer your request and ask any follow-up questions.

Integration of third-party services and content

Our website includes content, services, and features from other providers. These include, for example, maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, and graphics and images from other websites. The transmission of the IP address is essential for this data to be accessed and displayed in the user’s browser. Therefore, these providers (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) receive the IP address of the respective user.

Even though we strive to use only third-party providers who require the IP address solely for content delivery, we have no control over whether the IP address is subsequently stored. This process may be used, among other things, for statistical purposes. If we become aware that the IP address is being stored, we will inform our users.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer by the server. They contain information about your browser, IP address, operating system, and internet connection. We do not share this data with third parties or link it to personal data without your consent.

Cookies primarily serve two purposes. They help us to make navigating our website easier for you and ensure that the website is displayed correctly. They are not used to introduce viruses or launch programs.

Users can also access our website without cookies. To do this, you need to change the relevant settings in your browser. Please consult your browser’s help function for instructions on how to disable cookies. However, please note that this may impair some functions of this website and reduce user-friendliness. The websites  http://www.aboutads.info/choices/  (USA) and  http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/  (Europe) allow you to manage online advertising cookies.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. However, please note that in this case you may not be able to fully utilize all the functions of this website.

Furthermore, you can prevent Google from collecting and processing data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: Browser Add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at  http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html  and  https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/ .

Facebook Social Plug-in

We integrate plugins from the social network Facebook (address: 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA) into our websites. You can recognize the plugins – an overview can be found here:  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/   – by the Like button or the Facebook logo.

When you visit one of our websites with a Facebook plugin, a direct connection to Facebook is established. We have no control over the type and scope of data that Facebook collects, stores, and processes. We can only inform you to the best of our knowledge.

Facebook is informed via the plugin that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. This also applies to users who are not registered with Facebook. In this case, Facebook may store your IP address.
If you are a Facebook member and logged in, accessing a website with a Facebook plugin can be clearly associated with your Facebook user account. Furthermore, the plugins transmit all interactions, such as when you use the Like button or leave a comment.

To prevent Facebook from storing data about you, please log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also block the plugins using browser add-ons (for example, “Facebook Blocker”).

Information on Facebook’s privacy policy, the purpose and scope of data collection and processing, and privacy settings can be found here:  http://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php .

Data minimization

In accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data minimization, we store personal data only for as long as necessary or as required by law (statutory retention period). If the purpose for which the information was collected no longer applies or the retention period expires, we will block or delete the data.

Your rights to information, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection

You have the right to request, free of charge, information about the personal data we have stored about you and/or to request its correction, blocking, or deletion. Exceptions: This does not apply to data that is required for business transactions or that is subject to statutory retention requirements.

For these purposes, please contact our data protection officer (contact details: at the end of the privacy policy).
To ensure that a data block can be implemented at any time, it is necessary to retain the data in a blocked file for verification purposes. If there is no legal obligation to archive the data, you can also request its deletion. Otherwise, we will block the data if you so wish.

Changes to our privacy policy

To ensure that our privacy policy always complies with current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies if the privacy policy needs to be adapted due to new or revised services, such as new service offerings. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit to our website.
